Public holidays

Unlike many Amsterdam museums, the Rijksmuseum stays open on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and King's Day (27 April). Expect higher demand on these dates — book your slot early.

The shop, café and garden

The Rijksmuseum Shop and Rijksmuseum Café open at 09:00 and close shortly after the galleries. The Rijksmuseum Garden around the building is free to enter from sunrise to sunset and does not require a ticket.

Late openings
