The Rijksmuseum is fully accessible for wheelchair users and offers specific support for visitors with sensory or cognitive needs. Check our visitors guide and rules page alongside this one.

Physical access

All 80 galleries are step-free. Lifts connect every floor, including the shop, café and RIJKS® restaurant. Accessible toilets are on every level.

Wheelchairs and mobility

Manual wheelchairs and folding stools are available to borrow free at the information desk — first-come, first-served. There is no pre-booking.

Visual, hearing and cognitive

Induction loops work at every ticket desk and audio-guide station. The multimedia app has large-print visuals and descriptive audio tracks. Service dogs are always welcome. On request, staff can provide a quiet route that avoids the busiest galleries.
